My friend moved to Australia at the time and she was living by herself with no friends, no job and quite frankly no money. Her apartment was bare due to her low income at the time and according to her it felt like a reminder of how alone she was. Our friend group has an annual secret Santa and I got her, so I sent her a bunch of home decor that reminded me of her and most importantly reminders of home. She was quite overwhelmed when she opened her gift and it made me very happy to spend that extra money on her.
